Martin Luther King Jr. Day Essay

Since yesterday was Martin Luther King Jr. Day, you asked us

to write an essay about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day and what it

means to us. To me it means that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is a hero.

First of all, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. had a lot of talents. He was a very

talented man. A lot of people don't know this, but he was a doctor and a

reverend, which means he was pretty smart. I don't know anybody who is a

doctor and a reverend. So Dr.Martin Luther King Jr. was pretty smart. That

makes him a good rolemodel for kids.

I think I can relate to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.. Dr.Martin Luther King Jr.

knew what it was like to be discriminated against because he was a black

man, a doctor, and a reverend. Back then nobody liked black people. I know

how he felt because I really like LEGOs and people make fun of me. In other

words, I am discriminated against just like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was.

People like to make fun of me and call me LEGO boy in a mean voice,

which is pretty much the same as how they called Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. a

nigger in mean voices. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.couldn't help the fact that he

was black, just like I can't help that I love LEGOs. I'm sure if he had a choice

he would rather not have been black, but he couldn't help it.

I know what Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. went through because I go through

the same thing and I feel like we have a lot in common. That's why Dr. Martin

Luther King Jr. is a hero.
